Gillian Arenstein: Junior Legal Environmental Consultant
Gillian Arenstein BA LLB LLM
Gillian Arenstein is an admitted South African Attorney who completed her tertiary education at the University of Witwatersrand where she obtained a BA degree specialising in industrial psychology and law, an LLB degree, and a master's degree specialising in South African Environmental Law (LLM). Her LLM dissertation focused on the relationship between environmental impact assessments and climate change.
Since joining IMBEWU Gillian has primarily been involved in environmental and mine, health and safety legal compliance audits for major mining operations in South Africa and has recently become involved in health and safety legal compliance auditing for industrial operations. Gillian is also responsible for the on-going development of the IMBEWU Safety, Health and Environmental Legal Register. Gillian is also involved in the presentation of various legal training courses offered by IMBEWU dealing with inter alia the South African environmental impact assessment legal regime.
