Gillian Arenstein: Junior Legal Environmental Consultant

BA LLB

Gillian Arenstein studied at Witwatersrand University and obtained a BA majoring in Industrial Psychology and Law and a LLB. She is currently reading for her LLM in environmental law, focusing on sustainable development and environmental law, energy law and international environmental law.

Her interest in environmental law was precipitated by a health and safety audit which she assisted with while participating on a student vacation-programme during her LLB. She also has a specific interest in mining law. In 2009 she completed a practical legal training programme through the Law Society of South Africa. She commenced work at IMBEWU Sustainability Legal Specialists (Pty) Ltd in March 2010.
