IMBEWU Services SHE Electronic Legal Registers and Legal Compliance Evaluations ("Audits")
IMBEWU has developed state-of-the-art electronic legal registers that link environmental and health and safety legal requirements directly to the activities, aspects and impacts of a client’s particular operation as well as to legislative provisions and detailed legal commentaries.
IMBEWU has developed state-of-the-art electronic legal registers that link environmental and health and safety legal requirements established by national, provincial and local legislation directly to the activities, aspects, impacts, hazards and risks of a client's operation in order to improve the level of legal compliance at an operational level and to minimise risks due to non-compliance. All legal requirements are linked to an all-inclusive legislation database which is updated regularly and contains a comprehensive range of safety, health and environmental based legislation. In addition, and when prepared at a site specific level, the legal registers will assist in complying with the requirements of ISO 14 001 and OHSAS 18 001.
The Legal Registers are produced on either the Folio Views programme and are structured according to the client's specific requirements. There are two broad options for purposes of providing a Folio Views Legal Register:
- Folio Views CD format – the Folio Views Register is provided in hard copy format (excluding the SHE legislation database) and electronically on CD (including the SHE legislation database) in a version suitable for use on a network and for downloading onto individual laptops and desktops.
- Internet version – an internet version of a Legal Register may be hosted on the IMBEWU Registers Website at www.imbewuregisters.co.za (together with a safety and health / SHE legislation database that is linked directly to the Legal Register and a legal commentary). Please refer to this site for a demonstration version of an internet version SHE Legal Register.
IMBEWU has developed a innovative and user friendly Protected Areas Legal Register. For further details lo at: Biodiversity and Conservation Services.
IMBEWU has also undertaken Environmental and Health and Safety Legal Compliance Evaluations (or "Audits") for a wide range of mining and industrial operations throughout South Africa. The audits are prepared on a confidential basis and may be used to assist in complying with the requirements of ISO 14 001, for internal legal compliance benchmarking purposes or for specific issue or risk based assessments.
The process that is followed by IMBEWU is intended to allow for the state of compliance to be assessed based on an interactive process with the relevant personnel and following a site visit, document review and interview process. |
