IMBEWU Clients
IMBEWU works on sustainability legal and policy issues for a broad range of clients. These include a number of environmental consultancies, large industrial and mining clients, small to medium sized industrial operations, foreign embassies, non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), international agencies and government departments.
IMBEWU recognises the importance of assisting groupings whose primary objectives may be to protect the environment but who may be unable to afford to pay environmental lawyers. Such groupings often help in developing the law by undertaking court action that may set legal precedents and by encouraging other individuals or groups to enforce their environmental rights. IMBEWU has assisted or is currently assisting the following groups on a pro bono basis:
- Residents Associations;
- WESSA;
- Ad hoc guidance to students who wish to pursue a career in the environmental field;
- Ad hoc advice to individuals on their environmental legal rights.
