Marine and Coastal Management Law

IMBEWU has specific in-house knowledge and expertise in marine and coastal law. Marie Parramon specialises in the legal regime applicable to the regulation and management of land-based marine pollution and has developed specific expertise in the regulation of marine pollution.

The title of Marie’s PhD thesis is "Regulation of Land-Based Marine Pollution in South Africa and France". IMBEWU has conducted work for the National Ports Authority which required detailed knowledge of the national, regional and international legislation applicable in this context. IMBEWU has also reviewed and advised on the draft Marine and Coastal Management Bill.
