Marine and Coastal Management Law

IMBEWU has specific in-house knowledge and expertise in marine and coastal law. Marie Parramon specialises in the legal regime applicable to the regulation and management of land-based marine pollution and has developed specific expertise in the regulation of marine pollution.

IMBEWU has conducted work for the National Ports Authority which required detailed knowledge of the national, regional and international legislation applicable in this context. IMBEWU also reviewed and advised on the draft Marine and Coastal Management Bill.

IMBEWU has a comprehensive understanding of the National Environmental Management: Integrated Coastal Management Act 24 of 2008 and especially regarding its implications for developments and activities taking place on the coastal zone.
